Turbo Adds Accu-Span to its Pro Shop Product Line
Jim Lang's New Measuring Device is 'User Friendly'
When a bowler goes to a pro shop to get a new bowling ball, the number one objective is, no matter which ball is purchased, to make sure it fits the player's hand for maximum performance. All qualified coaches do one thing before starting any lessons with a student – they check to make sure the ball is drilled properly to fit the student's hand.
Amazingly, in spite of a revolution in bowling balls for more than two decades, the devices used to measure and layout the drilling patterns haven't changed much since the 1960's – until now.
ACCU-SPAN is an all new layout tool that will become a 'must have' by pro shops everywhere. It does what other measuring tools have done for decades, but it does it faster and more accurately. This dynamic new device was invented by Jim Lang, who owns two pro shops in Oregon and Oklahoma. Lang, 48, used his bowling and engineering background to make the product that has become very popular with coaches and pro shops, mostly in the Southwest. Now, in partnership with Turbo 2-N-1 Grips, he is ready to share it with the rest of the world.
Accu-Span embodies the best aspects of other measuring devices that have been in shops for decades and incorporates them into one easy to use tool. It even measures small spans for children's bowling balls that other tools won't adjust to. "I just love bowling, and I felt like there was a need for a better measuring tool, so I came up with this," said Lang. "I'm very happy to team up with Turbo to offer accu-span to pro shops everywhere. Lang will also manufacture a metric version of the product for use in European and Asian pro Shops.
In partnership with Lang's L / L Products, Turbo will be the exclusive distributor for the new Accu-Span. "Accu-Span is the most user friendly and accurate measuring system we have seen in years," said Turbo President of Sales and Marketing Lori Tessmar. Turbo's technical staff has been testing the new device for the past several month at their Training Facility, Turbo Tech. Turbo will feature this 'made in USA' product in Orlando this summer at Bowl Expo 2008.
"We're always looking for new products to compliment our line of accessories, and the Accu-Span fits perfectly. It's innovative, first quality and a great tool for our pro shop customers." added Tessmar.
"It's what you bring to bowling that matters," said Lang, "and I'm proud of this product and to make it part of the Turbo product line."
